Can I just start this blog post and recipe by sharing that….. this started out to be a healthy brownie recipe and halfway through and 2 blenders later, I took matter into my own hands and they turned into amazing bliss balls. And now I’ve made it 3 times, currently making it for the 4th time as I am posting this. When I ‘m craving something really sweet and chocolaty, you can’t go wrong with this!!
- 2 1/2 cups cups loosely packed pitted dates
- 1 cups diced almonds
- 6 Tbsp. cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- +- 2 tablespoons water
- 30 ml shredded coconut
How to Make It
Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, transfer the dough and press dough firmly until completely smooth with your hands. This is going to get messy as the dates are very sticky after being in the food processor. If necessary just add water as needed, just be careful not to add too much as they will get to soft and won’t keep their shape well.Step 4: Divide the batter into 9 and roll into small bowls and dip and roll in the shredded coconut before placing it on a plate.
Refrigerate balls for at least 2 hours to set. (I usually can’t wait this long and have to taste one immediately 😛 ) Refrigerate any leftovers in a covered container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze for up to 2 months.
